IT'S ON PAGE SEVEN, THREE QUARTERS OF THE WAY DOWN, AND IT WAS THE SUPERVISOR'S BUDGET HAD NOTHING IN THE AMENDED IS NOW SPENDING $175,000 FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES. THAT JUST OFFSETS THE LINE ABOVE IT. SO WE HAD TO RECALL THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR SERVICES. WHY ARE WE RENAMING IT THEN TO TRY TO MAKE IT, EXCUSE ME, MORE READER FRIENDLY. THERE'S A LOT OF THOSE IN HERE THAT YOU'LL SEE WHERE THERE WAS CONTRACTED SERVICES, CONSULTING SERVICES, INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL. SO AS A PART OF THIS PROCESS, WE WERE TRYING TO CLEAN UP SOME OF THE HEADINGS AS WELL AS GET RID OF SOME OF THE HEADINGS LIKE MISCELLANEOUS, BECAUSE THEY WERE JUST SERVING AS CATCH ALLS AND WE JUST WANTED TO CLEAN UP THE WELL. I NOTICED THE ENTIRE SECOND PAGE IS ALL INVEST INTEREST ON INVESTMENTS THAT WERE NOT ACCOUNTED FOR IN THE SUPERVISOR'S BUDGET. THEY WERE.
BUT WE IN THE ORIGINAL SUPERVISOR'S BUDGET, WE HAD RECEIVED SOME DIRECTION THAT YOU COULD ATTRIBUTE ALL OF YOUR INTEREST TO THE A FUND FOR GENERAL USE ACROSS THE TOWN. IT WAS THEN RECOMMENDED THAT WE ALLOCATE THAT ACROSS ALL THE DIFFERENT FUNDS. SO EVERY ONE OF THOSE LINE ITEMS IS BASICALLY TAKING THOSE ORIGINALLY $750,000 ALL JUST SITTING IN THE A FUND. ALL OF THOSE LINES, THEN TAKE THAT MONEY AND ALLOCATE IT TO THE INDIVIDUAL FUNDS. SO AT THE END OF THE DAY, THERE'S ACTUALLY $60,000 MORE IN INTEREST EARNINGS BECAUSE WE'RE GETTING GRANT FUNDING THAT WE CAN COLLECT INTEREST ON. SO IF YOU WERE TO TAKE ALL THOSE LINE ITEMS FROM SUPERVISOR BUDGET TO THIS PRELIMINARY BUDGET, IT WOULD HAVE GONE FROM 750 TO 810. BUT IT'S JUST SPREAD ACROSS THOSE MULTIPLE. BY SPREADING OUT, WE MADE $60,000. NO, THAT WAS AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT. SO WE ORIGINALLY HAD 750. WHEN WE WERE TALKING TO MARK AND BETH ABOUT SOME OF THE GRANTS THAT ARE COMING IN, THERE'S A LOT OF REIMBURSEMENTS OF GRANT MONEY THAT'S GOING TO COME IN 2026. SO WE CAN TAKE THAT MONEY, PUT IT IN THE BANK ACCOUNT, EARN INTEREST ON THAT. THOSE AMOUNTS, MARK IS ASSUMING THEY'RE CALCULATED TO BE ABOUT $2 MILLION THAT WE'LL HAVE IN OUR BANK ACCOUNTS IN 26 THAT WE DON'T HAVE IN 25. OKAY. THEN I GOT ANOTHER QUESTION FOR YOU. THAT IS, SHE LOOKED AT THE FEES AGAIN, AND THE LAST TIME THAT THEY WERE RAISED AND WHAT WE THINK WE CAN DO THERE WAS THE THOUGHT THAT WE COULD, IN FACT, TAKE THE STEP OF RAISING THOSE FEES. WAS THAT SET BY THE HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT? THE ORIGINAL ONE? YES. AND THEN WE WENT THROUGH THE NUMBERS TOGETHER, AND HE WAS COMFORTABLE WHEN I SHOWED THE NUMBERS AND THE RESULT OF WHY IT WAS SO HIGH LAST YEAR, WE WERE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS AMOUNT. SO NOT ONLY FOR THIS BUDGET, BUT EVEN JUST LOOKING AHEAD AND LAYING SOME GOOD GROUNDWORK FOR THE FOR WHAT I ANTICIPATE FOR THE FUTURE, I'D LIKE TO ALSO THANK OUR HAMBURG TRAILS COMMITTEE, LED BY KAT WALSH. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO ATTEND SEVERAL MEETINGS WITH THEM. THEY BROUGHT FORWARD AN IDEA THAT FOR AN EVENT OR EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE WINTER WHEN WE HAVE GOOD WINTER WEATHER. PREVIOUSLY WE USED TO DO SNOWSHOEING AND CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AT THE GOLF COURSE, SO IT HAD SOME UTILIZATION DURING THE WINTER.THEY BROUGHT THE IDEA FORWARD AGAIN AND WORKING WITH JILL AND ED AND HIS STAFF AGAIN, IT WAS A COLLABORATION. WE FIND THAT VERY FEW THINGS AREN'T A GREAT COLLABORATION BETWEEN MANY OF OUR DEPARTMENTS AND OUR EMPLOYEES, AND EVERYONE. THROUGH GREAT CONVERSATIONS, THE HAMBURG TRAILS WILL BE UNVEILING THAT THE GOLF COURSE WILL BE UTILIZED FOR SNOWSHOEING AND CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AGAIN THIS WINTER. THEY HAVE A GREAT SEVERAL DIFFERENT ROUTES THAT ARE GOING TO BE MAPPED OUT, AND THERE'S GOING TO BE ACCESS THROUGH THE TAYLOR ROAD FACILITY AND MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW THAT WILL BE ON OUR WEBSITE. AND HAMBURG TRAILS IS IN CHARGE OF THAT. SO AGAIN, I THANK KAT WALSH AND AND HER GROUP AND ALL OF OUR HAMBURG EMPLOYEES AND DEPARTMENT HEADS WHO WORK TO BRING THAT TO THE COMMUNITY. I THINK IT'S A GREAT EVENT OR ACTUALLY A SERIES OF EVENTS. IT'S GOING TO BE OPEN THROUGHOUT THE WINTER FOR FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN. I'D ALSO LIKE TO THANK MATT IN TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY AND HIS WHOLE CREW, WHO ARE CONSTANTLY THERE ARE SO MANY. I DON'T THINK EVERYBODY APPRECIATES HOW MANY EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS THAT THEY GET FROM INDIVIDUALS REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF OUR OF OUR TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR VEHICLES, PEDESTRIANS, BICYCLISTS.
